Bedbugs can be found on hotel mattresses and can infest your home s well. You can check the mattress cover. You look for black pepper-like flakes that are actually bedbug droppings and blood marks which show that they are feeding. Missy Henriksen, Vice President of Public Affairs for the National Pest Management Association suggests checking the headboard, dust ruffles and mattress seams as well. She recommends while in a hotel, keeping your bags on a counter, a desk, or in the bathroom on the counter. Be careful to wash your travel clothes in hot water to keep from bringing any bed bugs home from a hotel.
Bedbugs are a problem that seems to be escalating, but if we take precautions, then we may be able to protect ourselves.
